Domestic Terrorism, American Fascism, & Brett Kimberlin

I learned about the existence of Brett Kimberlin for the first time last week, and what I read make my blood run cold, first with anger, then with disgust.

There have been many instances over the past that I've had to correct some of my liberal friends when they've misused the definition of Fascism.  Usually they attempt to attribute that moniker to the Tea Party followers (as if shrinking the size of government could somehow be construed as fascist). Of course, they don't know any better, since they've been marinating in misinformation put forth by sub-par public education and an openly fraudulent media.

But if there ever was a definitive American fascist, I think Brett Kimberlin would fit the bill to a "T". And the ironic part is the embracing of him by the left.

Kimberlin is a multiply convicted felon who was responsible for the "Speedway Bombings", which authorities in Speedway Indiana suspect were done to cover up for a murder (the murder case was dropped when the main witness died).  The bombings resulted in multiple injuries of innocents--in  one case injuries so severe they caused the victim to commit suicide.

Nice guy, right? It gets worse.

After having his sentence (incredibly) reduced, and after other convictions of drug trafficking, and impersonating a federal officer, he eventually came out and re-introduced himself to the world as the director of at least two leftist 501(c)3 operations, thereby gaining entrance into the heady world of the limousine liberals.

According to blogger Stacy McCain, who has done research on this criminal and as a result is now in hiding (yes, really), Kimberlin has been financed by the Tides Foundation (an ultra-liberal outfit by anybodies measure) to the tune of $100,000, and none other than Barbara Streisand ($10,000) and Teresa Heinz-Kerry ($30,000).

Now he's been terrorizing bloggers who have the temerity to point out his past.

(To be continued...)

Partisan Villians Contrasted: John Edwards vs. Sarah Palin

For liberals, left wingers,& the trendy shallow thinkers of post-modern America, Sarah Palin represents the penultimate villian. Fine--you hate her because you hate her message, and because she's fairly adept at getting it out. (I'm sure there are other, more infantile reasons, too.) But it is interesting to see how they treat their own bilious misfit Vice Presidential candidate. Powerline has an excellent analysis on that subject here

Michael Mukasey Shows What Craven Politicians Look Like

...in his opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal.  As compared to other, non-craven politicians from the recent past, who knew what responsibility was and how to accept it.

Apparently, what you get when you cross a thug and a weasel is a Socialist.

Quote of the Day

From SayUncle, via Instapundit:

"So yesterday, OWS tore up a couple of cities, sent fake anthrax to banks, and tried to blow up a bridge… I for one can’t wait for the media expose' about racists in the Tea Party."

Iowahawk's Earthweek Cruise-In Grand Champion Carbonator

I don't want to give away the surprise, but of course you had to know that if we're talking about the biggest, boldest, and most expensive of ANYthing, the government would be involved.

The official results are here.

By the way, if you're not a regular visitor to Iowahawk's blog, you should be. There on display is pure genius, expressed as precisely targeted sarcasm and wit.  It's everything Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert wish they could be--and it isn't all coming from a team of writers.

Chicago Politician Embraces Unethical Fundraising Again, State-Run Media Yawns

If you can't guess which one, think: Who is the most ideologically dishonest public persona to call the Windy City home since his erstwhile buddy--that crazy, loveable, homicidal-bomber-turned-professor, Bill Ayers?

I'll give you another hint: He wrote a book that should have been titled "The Mendacity of Hype" but sadly wasn't (although the actual title rhymes nicely with my alternate title).

Give up? Follow this link at Powerline for the story that, according to State-Run news outlets isn't a story. After all, it wasn't a story when he did this in 2008, so move along. Nothing to see here.

It's not like foreign bodies that might want to influence U.S. policies--like, oh, say, Russia, China, Iran, Korea, or organized crime could be easily and anonymously contributing to a U.S. presidential candidate's campaign--er, is it?

Apparently the legacy State-Run Media is okay looking the other way when it comes to dishonest, fraudulent, and potentially national security threatening fund raising practices when their chosen candidate's success is at stake.  But can you imagine the uproarious two-inch high headlines in the New York Times, or Brian Williams hyperventilating on camera at NBC if, say, President Bush had done this in the 2004 campaign (or any other Republican in any other election ever, for that matter)?

Since the truth might endanger the re-election of their chosen Messiah, these "journalists" must all avert their eyes and bow in reverence & awe at his wise manipulation of the credulity of his subjects.

Thus it falls to real folks like Scott Johnson to do the reporter's' jobs, to do the real research & the real journalism to get the word out to other real folks--the ones that care about things like the rule of law and illegal influence from foreign contributions that could damage national policy & security.

Meanwhile the pseudojournalists of the State Run Media sit on their hands and hope that the truth doesn't get out.
